Bruno Munari, one of the leading figures of the 20th century in art, design and graphics, summarizes, without ambiguity, the creative spirit of design, a key element of the Milan Design Week, the most important design event in the world. Salone del Mobile, exclusively dedicated to the furniture, and, of course, the unmissable Fuorisalone, dedicated to anyone who wants to have fun feeling inspired by the originality of design, are the main locations of Design Week.

Fuorisalone was born in the early ’80s by some companies in the furniture and design sectors and today it involves many other related sectors, including technology, art, fashion and food. The Fuorisalone It represents the most festive and cool side of the Salone. Exhibitions, new projects and exclusive parties animate and capture entire neighborhoods, creating a Design District. You dive in the midst of installations and experimental proposals, created between art and innovation, and from which style and style and creativity of well-knew designers as well as of talented young emerge.

Therefore, we could not be simple viewers of this wonderful international “designland”. In collaboration with DONTSTOP Architettura we will be technical partner of BASE Milano for “Il Cortile” project, one of the most important urban regeneration projects in Europe (here more information). During the Design Week 2018, BASE will present the first part of the micro-regeneration work designed by DONTSTOP Architettura. Sited in Tortona area, the Fuorisalone headquarter, “Il Cortile” of BASE is conceived as social and cultural space. Sittings and planters, from the pure geometric shapes, are examples of our revolutionary surface finishing MarbleSkin™. Thanks to it, the designed outdoor elements thought as stone monolithic blocks, become light and easy to move, maintaining their functionality and enhancing the originality of personalization.

MarbleSkin™ is the result of an innovative process about the use of natural traditional materials. All Minerals can be applied on each kind of surface, even with very complex shapes, as it was a second skin.

From the meeting with BASE Milano and DONTSTOP Architettura, a common vision that characterizes all of us is emerged: the ability to be innovators of innovation, to explore new territories and new ways to stimulate creativity. We like to experiment too and offer everyone the opportunity of customizing.

“Il Cortile” of BASE is a first event that opens a long route with the fellowship of BASE Milano, for a whole year, up to Design Week 2019. This “open-air contAMINATOR” project thus becomes our “starting point for further travels and explorations“in the world of “functional creativity” and the “personalization of the change taking place”; a connection, it will also be our BASE, in the heart of one of the most creative cities in the world.
